.A Brief Meta-analysis and Health Risk Assessment of Lead and Cadmium in Meat, Liver, and Kidney of Livestock in Iran.

Abstract :

Background: Red meat from livestock is an excellent source of high-quality protein, vitamins, and minerals. This meta-analysis aimed to investigate the levels of two of the most toxic heavy metals; lead (Pb) and cadmium (Cd) in meat and edible offal (liver and kidney) of livestock (sheep, buffalo, and cow) in Iran with assessing their health risk of developing cancer.

.The Effectiveness of Psychodynamic Group Therapy on the Components of the Sense of Coherence Among Patients with Colon Cancer.

Abstract :

Background: Cancer causes several social and psychological problems and responses, such as denial, anger, and feelings of guilt, which eventually lead to the patient’s psychological coherence collapse. The present study aimed to evaluate the effects of psychodynamic group therapy on the components of the Sense of Coherence (SOC) among patients with colon cancer.

Digestive Diseases Research Center (DDRC) is an affiliated research center to Poursina Hakim Institute, a private organization for health promotion, patient care, research and education in biomedical sciences in the field of gastrointestinal diseases. Research activities have begun since 2000, just at the same time that Poursina Hakim Institute initiated its activity leading to establishment of Poursina Hakim Research Center in 2008. The institute including the research center was finally approved by the Iranian Ministry of Health and Medical Education as DDRC in 2015. Our research team is comprised of researchers in different fields including medicine, pharmacy, microbiology, pathology, statistics, etc. with the goal to translate research from bench- to-bedside benefiting mankind.
